I would try to keep the quad shock at least. Otherwise youll probably run into the wonderful thing called wheel hop.

yeas i thought about that ... but mark B is running no quad shocks ...and his car hooks the hardest out of all us
RoadWarrior
Hes also got better tired than any of us. And it seems that quad shocks do the most when you spin tires. If you hook up than they dont seem to do as much.

sway bar is only really useful in corning qaud shocks might help but a set of good control arms or at least bushings will help more
Mercury
righ now as the car sits ...
its has boxed control arms with good bushings..
new RS springs
and new shocks
the rest is on hold right now

I can't really imagine any problems but the only way to find out would be to drive it and find out
RoadWarrior
I would still say keep the quad shocks if possible. If not then they can go but they wouldnt hurt anything.

I used to have some McCreary oval track slicks 'til they got turfed out during an overzealous garage cleaning and the one time I tried to use 'em, they rubbed on the quad shocks. So deepsixing the quads will make more room for fat boots. if it causes wheelhop, I've got a adjustable pinion snubber I'm not using anymore that should ease that problem.

Yeah, I forgot I tossed 'em myself until I spent a few hours on a archeological dig through all the crap in my garage lookin' for them a couple weeks ago. Since those whiny bastards at Budpark won't let me use my drag radials anymore and I don't have quad shocks in the way anymore, I thought I'd toss 'em on a pair o' ten-holes. Ah well, next year...real drag slicks!

I think you can safely toss the sway bar. But the quads are a good idea. I don't have them...just the pinion snubber and she hops like a bitch. They did make traction bars for the car. I have a set...but mounting them on your axle requires welding the brackets to the tubes. They may work for you.
A guy told me that south side machine adjustable uppers gave the best hook-uo anyone else know about this?

If you do take the sway bar off keep it, the control arm spacing is almost the same on the galaxie. I coudl drill the holes and mount it on my car.
Black Ice
it might help on your car a bit mike but it is a pretty small sway bar
